Art
Art is a kind of culture that reflects reality and reposes emotion through means or median to create image and atmosphere. Great art often has aesthetic value or philosophical value, but it does not necessarily have the public level of entertainment. Compared with science, art cannot live without the expression of emotion.
Modern art includes literature, painting, sculpture, music, dance, drama, film, fashion design, architectural design and so on. Art is an important way to supplement language. Just like in speech, we use loudness to represent anger, laughter to represent happiness, and dancing to represent anxiety or other emotions to convey to the audiences. Therefore, every work of art should have its unique appeal, which is the vitality of art.
Painting
Painting is one of the most important art forms in plastic arts. It is an art form that uses artistic language such as lines, colors and shapes to create a static visual image in two-dimensional space (i.e. plane) through artistic means such as modeling, colors and composition to express the author's aesthetic feelings.
There are many kinds of paintings, which can be divided into different categories from different angles. From the perspective of region, painting can be divided into oriental painting and western painting, from the perspective of tool materials, painting can be divided into ink painting, oil painting, mural, print, watercolor, gouache, etc. From the perspective of subject matter, painting can be divided into figure painting, landscape painting, still life painting, animal painting, etc. From the form of works, paintings can be divided into murals, new year pictures, comics, posters, oil paintings, blow paintings, illustrations and so on.
Print is an important category of visual art. In a broad sense, printmaking can include graphics printed before printing industrialization, which generally have the nature of printmaking. The concept of contemporary printmaking mainly refers to the artistic works conceived and created by artists through plate making and printing procedures. Specifically, it refers to the pictures printed by carving or etching on wood, stone, hemp glue, copper, zinc and other plates with knives or chemicals. Print art has been accompanied by the invention and development of printing in technology. Ancient print mainly refers to woodcut, but also a small number of copper engraving and overprint. The unique taste of knife and wood makes its independent artistic value and status in the history of Chinese culture and art.
Russian print
Russian print has an important position in the world art history, with unique artistic characteristics and artistic charm.
In order to meet the needs of the Anti Japanese war in the whole Soviet Union, Soviet artists created a large number of wartime art propaganda materials in four years, which showed the glorious image and heroic fighting spirit of the Soviet people in fighting against the German invaders, and recorded the historical facts of the war truly and vividly. They are not only works of art, but also the most precious historical documents.
The great integration of the East and the west, the print of Lu Xun and Kathe Kollwitz
Lu Xun is a collection icon, apart from books, his most large collection is print. At present, there are more than 2100 new prints in China collected in the memorial hall of Lu Xun in Shanghai. In 2014, the collection of Lu Xun Tibetan foreign prints published by Hunan art press also collected 1677 works.
In 1928, Lu Xun was more keen to advocate the new print movement after he settled in Shanghai. Besides collecting a large number of print works, Lu Xun actively raised funds to publish the album of print (such as the two types of modern woodcut anthology, the new Russian painting collection), and went to the national woodcut mobile exhibition 11 days before his death. Lu Xun, known as "father of Chinese emerging print".
