China Publishing Association





 




China Publishing Association was established on December 20, 1979. This association is a national professional social organization voluntarily formed by China's publishing industry, a non-profit association legal person serving the publishing industry, and a bridge, bond between the Communist Party of China as well as the Chinese government and China's publishing industry. The purpose of this association is, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, unite all member units in the country, organize publishing practitioners, adhere to Marxism Leninism, Mao Zedong’s thoughts, Deng Xiaoping’s theories and the important thought of "Three Represents", adhere to the scientific outlook on development, comprehensively implement the party's route, principles and policies, and adhere to the direction of publishing work serving the people and socialism, promote the development of the publishing industry and the construction of the publishing team, safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of the member units, promote the innovation and reform of the publishing industry, promote the exchanges and cooperation with Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and the international publishing circles, and strive for the prosperity of the socialist publishing industry and the construction of a prosperous, strong, democratic and civilized socialist China. This association is under the guidance and supervision of the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee and the Ministry of civil affairs, the registration authority of social organizations.

 

The association implements the unit membership system, and the legal representative of the member unit participates in the activities of the association on behalf of the unit. All kinds of publishing and distribution units (including state-owned, collective, private and joint-venture publishing and distribution institutions) approved by the competent authorities of the state, all provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government municipal publishing associations, national publishing education, publishing research, publishing and printing, publishing materials supply and publishing technical services and other units closely related to publishing, recognize the articles of association, and can voluntarily apply for membership. The highest authority of the association is the member congress.

 

The main tasks of the China Publishers Association are:
 

1.To organize and promote publishers to study and implement the principles and policies of the Communist Party of China and the Chinese government, adhere to the correct political direction, carry forward the fine traditions of publishers, hold high profile, focus on the overall situation, serve the people, reform and innovate, and constantly improve the level of publishing work.

 

2.To assist the government departments in the education and training of the publishing team, to carry out theoretical research and business exchange activities.

 

3.Participate in the formulation of industry standards and industry development plans, and carry out professional qualification certification.

 

4.Organize the activities of "Taofen publishing Award" and "China excellent publication Award" in publishing industry.

 

5.Strengthen self-discipline of the industry, organize the formulation and implementation of the code of professional ethics for Chinese publishers, and promote publishing units and publishers to abide by the law and professional ethics

 

6.Safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of publishers according to law.

 

7.To carry out exchanges and cooperation with the publishing circles of foreign countries, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Macao Special Administrative Region and Taiwan.


8. Carry out industry services and business activities in accordance with the law. A working committee shall be set up according to work needs. In charge of running thread bound book company, editing and publishing China Publishing Yearbook and other publications.
