General Book Depot' was started by Mr. W.R. Goyal in 1933 at 1691, Nai Sarak, Delhi-110006, India. We were the one of leading importers of books from U.K & U.S.A. in fifties and sixties.
 

We are one of the leading supplier of books to school and college libraries all over India. We started publishing under the imprint Pigeon & GBD Books in 2008 and have published 400 books till now on English Vocabulary, Classics, School Books, Foreign Languages and Dictionaries. We have already reprinted 35 Chinese Language learning books under agreement with Sinolingua, FLP, FLTRP, and PEP. We signed copyright agreements with some more Chinese publishers (The Commercial Press, NWP, Sinolingua, Royal Collins, Hebei Education, Zhejiang Publishing, etc.) to reprint 15 more Chinese books. GBD is one of the only importers & distributors of Chinese books in India.
 

At this New Delhi World Book Fair, 2016, China was the Guest of Honour Country and many Chinese publishers participated. GBD Books signed “Agreements” with many Chinese/Mandarin books in collaboration with Foreign Language Press (FLP); New World Press (NWP); The Commercial Press; People’s Education Press (PEP); Beijing Language and Culture University Press (BLCUP); Heibei Publishing & Media Group; Beijing Welkin Star Culture Media; Sinolingua; Sichuan Publishing House of Science & Technology; CITIC Publishing Group; Qingdao Publishing Group; Anhui Publishing Group; Guangdong Publishing Group; Zheijiang Publishing United Group and many others.
 

Kaushal Goyal along with his son and sales manager visited Beijing in April, 2016, in August, 2016 to attend BIBF, 2016, and again in August 2017 to attend BIBF 2017, where we signed more contracts with Chinese Book Publishers to reprint many of their Language, Cultural and Children books in India in multi languages, Mandarin/Pinyin, English & Hindi in the next one year.
 

We are exhibiting Chinese Language & Cultural books in India under the name of ‘China Book Centre’. GBD has opened a “China Books Editorial Department” at their office in collaboration with New World Press, Beijing, China and has translated 4 of their books in Hindi Language namely; The Chinese Dream; The Chinese Dream in Pictures; The Belt & Road Initiative; The Main Battlefield of the East, in 2017. We are also in the process of translation 4 more of NWP Books and many more from other Chinese Publishers namely Foreign Languages Press; Sinolingua; The Commercial Press; Sichuan Publishing House; Shandong Publishing House and others.
 

'GBD Books' showroom has 2500 sq. ft. area and has thousands of books on different fields & subjects viz., ART, COOKING, CHILDREN, FICTION, FOREIGN LANGUAGES, GENERAL MANAGEMENT, GMAT, GRE, SAT, TOEFL, IELTS, WORD POWER, ENGLISH IMPROVEMENT and ALL TYPES OF DICTIONARIES & ENCYCLOPEDIAS, specializing in CHINESE LANGUAGE.
