International Affairs Working Committee CPPA

Makes Research Visit to Chengde High-Tech Industrial Development Zone

On 23 January 2024, a group of guests from International Affairs Working Committee on Cultural Publishing Cooperation of China Publishing and Promotion Association (CPPA) conducted a investigation visit to Chengde High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, and held an seminar with representatives of its CPC Working Committee and Administrative Commission to discuss complement of projects for building China into a thriving socialist culture.

Li Dawei, Chairman of International Affairs Working Committee on Cultural Publishing Cooperation CPPA, Zhiyong Fang, Vice Chairman of CPC Working Committee and Executive Vice Chairman of Administrative Commission, and Dezhi Wen, Director of Technology and Innovation Department, of Chengde High-Tech Industrial Development Zone; and well as Xinyu Li, Deputy Director of Shuangluan District Natural Resources and Planning Bureau, and Jinju Tian, Former General Manager of Shenzhen Bay Startup Accelerator attended the event.

Chairman Li stated, with the long history, great location, flourishing tourism and rich cultural resources, Chengde is a suitable city to undertake projects that can relieve non-capital functions for Beijing and establish cultural industry clusters. Authoritative media from national press and publication, agglomeration projects of national ministries, non-renewable resources in national culture publishing and projects for constructing a powerful country in publishing would bring the cultural industry of Chengde a national status in the realm of cultural publishing. Moreover, these projects will attract flows of business, material, people, capital and information into Chengde, and directly promote the rapid development of its culture, commerce and tourism.

Deputy Secretary Fang Zhiyong consulted Director Li Dawei on issues related to the Taishan Press and Publishing Town, for which he had acted as general adviser, and both sides discussed the construction, investment, planning and operation of cultural industry projects. Deputy Secretary Fang expressed his heartfelt thanks to the International Affairs Working Committee for its concern and support for the development of Chengde. He said that programmes for the construction of Chengde’s cultural industry fit well with the city’s functions and industries, so would bring great economic benefits and cultural development to Chengde if were implemented after being submitted to Chengde Municipal Party Committee and Government.
